Beat those winter blues with some red hot retail therapy in Nelson City

Nelson City was humming with the Uniquely Nelson’s Winter Promotion “Shop Here 2 Get There” during July. Shoppers were tempted with more than $23,000.00 in prizes and giveaways to chase away the winter blues.

Outgoing manager Rowena Richards said she was overwhelmed by the continued support shown by Nelson City Businesses, in particular WOW, Air New Zealand, Nelson Escapes and businesses as far away as Hanmer Springs, the Marlborough Sounds and Golden Bay giving prizes for the Winter promotion.

Nelson City businesses really embraced the promotion and donated more than $17,000 worth of gift vouchers and products to give away to lucky shoppers over the five week period - saying “thank you” to their customers for their support.

Shoppers arriving in Nelson City during the promotion could expect to see Doris the funky air hostess delivering surprises to help shoppers with their parking, coffee needs and gift vouchers, but that’s not all.

Every purchase from a participating businesses, qualified you to complete an entry form to go in the draw for a range of fabulous prizes. This year the big prize was a fully paid for trip for two to the WOW Opening Night Preview Show in Wellington, flying Air New Zealand, including $500 spending money. Nelson woman Bridget Marchant was the lucky winner of this prize and she was thrilled to go to Wellington to see the WOW show live.
